In 2014, the F-35C proved it could handle the stresses of carrier life. Its larger wings and control surfaces provide the lift needed for slow approaches, while the integrated "Delta Flight Path" software helps the pilot stay locked on the glideslope. This began the integration of stealth into the carrier air wing.
